The Waves Oostende

Just a stone’s throw from the Wellington racecourse and the golf club, along the Troonstraat in Oostende, plans are in motion to construct “The Waves”: four organic building volumes comprising of 118 apartments, commercial spaces, and 147 parking spaces. This impressive project by real estate company Vastgoedgroep Degroote will be realised in four different stages. The permits for the first stage has been issued. The first one is approved.

The concept was inspired by the dual setting of an urban context and the rolling natural elements. The organic shapes of the dunes, the soft grass and the foaming waves can be recognized in both the building volumes and in the exterior spaces. The holiday feeling of this exclusive project is informed by the clever cornices, the windows that offer a gorgeous view on the expanse of the sea during the day and light up like mild lanterns at night, and the base coloured in the hues of the shore.
